During the 2013 Red Gold Growers Banquet AcMoody Farms was presented the E..A. Reichart Quality Achievement Award to honor them as Tomato Grower of the Year. Also nine growers were presented Master Grower Awards.
BRIAN AND VERN AcMOODY OF AcMOODY FARMS RECOGNIZED
Red Gold, Inc., of Elwood, Indiana presented Brian and Vern AcMoody of Union City, Michigan a plaque naming them the winner of the E.A. Reichart Quality Achievement Award to honor them as Tomato Grower of the Year. AcMoody Farms was chosen from a select group of nine master growers, picked from 53 growers for Red Gold, Inc. Brian and Vern also received their sixth Red Gold Master Grower award. Winners received specially designed sweaters, watches, attaches, jackets, and year plates in recognition of their achievement in growing high quality tomatoes, exhibiting industry leadership, and professionalism. All growers for Red Gold have had training on employee safety, human resources, and mitigating soil compaction. As tomato growers for Red Gold, the AcMoody’s have excelled in stewardship practices on their farm and participated in the Red Gold IPM program. This year’s production from AcMoody Farms would account for over 32 million cans of Red Gold whole, diced, stewed, and specialty tomato products. The award was presented during Red Gold’s twenty second Annual Growers Banquet in Indianapolis, IN. Presenting the award to Brian and Vern was the Reichart family, Brian Reichart, President and CEO, Selita Reichart, Vice President, Beau Reichart, Senior Manager of Continuous Improvement, Colt Reichart, New Media Communications Manager, and A.J. Anderson, Cost Accounting Manager. The banquet is held in conjunction with the Indiana Raw Products Conference, sponsored by Purdue University.
