Red Gold donated $15, 000 to Indiana food charities with money collected from our Crush Hunger 5K Run and Walk.

RED GOLD DONATES NEARLY $15,000 TO
INDIANA FOOD CHARITIES IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON

In celebration of 70 years of Made-In-Indiana quality, Red Gold held its first annual Run to Crush Hunger to benefit the Elwood Morrisett Center and Second Harvest Food Bank. In its inaugural year, the race brought nearly 750 participants from 8 different states and 59 different cities. The donation of $14,816.21 was presented to the two charities to help with the fight against hunger in Central Indiana. Tim Kean, President & CEO of Second Harvest says “We truly appreciate Red Gold’s passion and commitment to the community, the donation couldn’t come at a better time with the holiday season just around the corner.”

The Run to Crush Hunger was the first of its kind in Elwood which complemented the 27th annual Red Gold Chili Cook-Off. The second Saturday of every October will be the stage for this fun filled-family weekend every year.   “Crush Hunger Saturday was an eventful day for the people of Tomato Country, Red Gold is extremely proud to host an event with such an important cause,” says Tim Ingle, Red Gold Vice President of Human Resources. “The participants, sponsors, volunteers and community made a great recipe for a successful community event.”
