Ingredients
| 2 | pounds | ground sausage | ||
| 1 | (28 ounce) can | Tuttorosso® Crushed Tomatoes in thick puree with basil | ||
| 3 | cups (12 ounces) | shredded cheddar cheese | ||
| 1 | (10.75 ounce) can | cream of chicken soup | ||
| 1 | cup | sour cream | ||
| 1 | (8 ounce) carton | French onion dip | ||
| 1 | cup | chopped onion | ||
| 1/4 | cup | chopped green bell pepper | ||
| Salt and black pepper to taste | ||||
| 1 | (30 ounce) bag | frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed |
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350o F. In a skillet brown the sausage; drain well. Add TUTTOROSSO® CRUSHED TOMATOES in thick puree with basil and heat.
- In a large mixing bowl combine 2 cups cheese, chicken soup, sour cream, onion dip, green bell pepper, salt and pepper. Fold in the hash brown and mix well.
- Spread ½ of the hash brown mixture over the bottom of a 13x9x2 inch baking dish. Spread ½ of the tomato mixture over hash browns. Repeat layering with second half of hash brown mixture. Top with remaining sauce and 1 cup of cheese. Bake for one hour or until casserole is golden brown.
