Fold Over Pizza Novice / Beginner

A quick, kid-pleasing pizza made with ground beef, cheese slices and refrigerator biscuits form the crust.

Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1 (15 ounce) can Red Gold® Crushed Tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 (12 ounce) can refrigerator biscuits
1 (8 ounce) package mozzarella cheese slices

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 400o F. Lightly grease a cookie sheet. In a large skillet, brown ground beef, onion, green bell pepper and mushrooms; drain well. Stir in RED GOLD® CRUSHED TOMATOES , oregano, salt and black pepper; mix well. Simmer for 5 minutes while preparing dough.
  • Separate dough into 10 biscuits. Place on cookie sheet and press or roll biscuits to form a 14x10 inch rectangle. Spread tomato mixture over one half of dough. Place cheese slices over tomato mixture.
  • Fold dough over cheese slices to form long rectangle. Press edges with fork to seal. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into 2 inch slices to serve.

Cooking Hint:

Refrigerator biscuits can be used to prepare quick dumplings or homemade noodles. Tear into small pieces and drop in the broth for dumplings. Roll and cut biscuits into 1/4 inch strips for noodles.
