RED GOLD PARTNERS WITH INSHAPE INDIANA

Red Gold participated in a press conference today with Governor Mitch Daniels for the Hoosier health and fitness program as part of Governor Daniels INShape Indiana program.  Red Gold and twelve other progressive Indiana corporations and universities have agreed to participate in a company wellness program that will incorporate INShape Indiana, the Governor’s program to promote healthy lifestyles for Hoosiers.

“Red Gold has been involved with promoting wellness to our employees,” said Tim Ingle director of human resources at Red Gold.  “We are looking forward to introducing the INShape program to our employees.  Mr. Ingle participated in the press conference with the Governor. 

Featured employers who have partnered to participate in the Governor’s wellness effort are Ball State University, Cummins, Dow Agra Services, GM Chrysler, Indiana University, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Marsh, Mays Chemical Company, Monarch Beverage, Purdue University, State of Indiana, Red Gold, University of Southern Indiana and Zimmer.        

The successful INShape program that encourages Hoosiers to lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks will begin its second run on Monday. The program encourages participates to lose one pound a week over 10 weeks by improving their nutrition and increasing physical activity. Each week, participants receive an e-mail tip about how to reduce their daily intake by 250 calories and increase activity by 250 calories.
