Gourmet Pizza Sauce

3 garlic cloves, minced
3tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1(29 ounce) can Red Gold® Tomato Puree
1(28 ounce) can Red Gold® Crushed Tomatoes
1tablespoon brown sugar
1tablespoon Italian seasoning
1teaspoon dried basil
Salt and black pepper to taste
1/2teaspoon crushed red pepper


  • In a large saucepan sauté garlic in oil until tender.  Stir in remaining ingredients.  Bring to a boil.  Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes or until sauce reaches desired thickness.
  •  Use sauce with any recipe that calls for pizza sauce.  The sauce will keep in the refrigerator for 1 week.
  • Option: Pizza in photo has pepperoni, yellow peppers, mushrooms and cheese.  Select the choices for topping the pizza that you enjoy eating.
